Terms
Mela is a free guide. Use it to learn, plan and share.
Accuracy
Descriptions are written with AI assistance from open sources and checked automatically. They can contain mistakes. Festival dates change, and some are set only weeks ahead by local authorities or by the sighting of the moon. Always confirm dates, tickets and travel advice with the organisers or local authorities before you make plans. Mela is not liable for decisions made on the basis of this site.
Respect
Many festivals here are sacred to the people who keep them. We try to describe each in the terms of its own tradition. If we have got something wrong, please tell us.
Reuse
Photos belong to their authors and are used under the licences shown beside them. Text on Mela may be quoted with a link back to the page.
